The 2019 Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition for 2019 has begun with candidates from each county across the island of Ireland being awarded for their efforts, and being given the opportunity to represents themselves, their business, and their county at Regional and National Level. On Tuesday the 30th of April, the candidates for Kilkenny were gathered to the Smithwicks Experience centre where Minister for Local Government and Electoral Reform, John Paul Phelan (Pictured Left) was on hand to announce the winners. It was with great delight, that our founder Jens Köpke was given the trophy for Best Start-Up business along with an investment of €15,000 which will be put to good use to bring Motoklik to market. The Motoklik team are looking forward to supporting Jens in the Regional Final on the 19th of June.
Startacus; “Just over a month ago we teamed up with the inaugural Innovation Nation 2018 to deliver Ascend, an all-Ireland tech start-up pitch competition, where NI and ROI early-stage startups will be given a platform to showcase their latest innovation.
Taking place in Newry in Northern Ireland on Thursday 27 September, the winning startup, to be announced that evening, will receive a cash prize of £3k plus a package worth £50k of high value corporate services.”
The InterTradeIreland Seedcorn Investor Readiness Competition is a highly competitive competition with a prize fund of €280,000. Now in it’s 16th year, Seedcorn is Ireland’s biggest business competition for innovative new start and early stage businesses in any sector. Each business must deliver an investment pitch in front of an expert judging panel comprising of venture capitalists, business angels and some of the island’s leading business leaders. Speaking about the regional finalists, Shane O’Hanlon, Funding for Growth Manager at InterTradeIreland said; “To get to a regional final, companies have gone have already successfully submitted a visual representation of their business idea and a full business plan, so I’m delighted to offer my congratulations to all those who have reached this crucial stage. The standard of entries from Connaught and Leinster was very high and we look forward how the competition progresses.”
Motoklik was greeted with great enthusiasm at the 2018 edition of Waterford’s “Toys 4.0 Engineers” Technology, Innovation and Recruitment conference. Motoklik’s motocross technology stood alongside industry giants such as Ball, Teva and West Pharma, all located in the Waterford Region. On display was our 2018 Husqvarna FC 350 which drew crowds of people throughout the day eager to learn more about this amazing machine and our fantastic sport.
During the showcase exhibition for Enterprise Ireland’s South East New Frontiers business’ of 2018, Motoklik was recognised alongside other strong business opportunities as the best “Innovative New Idea” to graduate from the esteemed entrepreneur development programme. It is a great confidence boost to have the unique and ground breaking offering of Motoklik rewarded after participation in such an intense and demanding undertaking, however, the future looks bright to continue on our path to give customers the best experience on two wheels.
